The Lumberjacks are very excited to announce Ryan Garrow as our Strength and Conditioning coach for the 2019-2020 season. Ryan has previously worked with the Merrimack Men’s Ice Hockey team and is currently the Director of Strength & Conditioning for Mount Mansfield Ski Club & Academy where he handles all aspects of performance for ski racers.
At Merrimack College Ryan also worked with Baseball and Golf teams as well as the Men’s Ice Hockey Team while completing his graduate fellow in Strength & Conditioning. He completed his Master’s degree in Exercise & Sport Science in May 2018 from Merrimack.
Ryan graduated from SUNY Cortland in 2012 with his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Fitness Development. Upon graduation Ryan moved to Burlington where he became the Strength & Conditioning Coach for Saint Michael’s College Men’s Ice Hockey Program from 2013-2017 and Men’s Lacrosse from 2015-2017. During that time, he was also the Head Trainer at Body Resolution, a private personal training studio in South Burlington and Burlington, VT from 2012-2017. He was responsible for the internship program, on boarding new hires and training a diverse clientele.
Ryan has interned and volunteered at the University of Vermont with the Athletic Performance staff and SUNY Cortland, working with a variety of sports including Men’s Ice Hockey, Basketball, and Lacrosse.
Ryan holds memberships and certifications from the National Strength & Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Functional Strength Coach through Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning (CFSC), the Functional Movement Screen (FMS), Reflexive Performance Reset Level 1 &11 (RPR), TRX, as well as CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer.
As a Vermont native, he loves fishing, golfing, hiking, skiing, and doing anything outdoors. Ryan resides in South Burlington, with his girlfriend Olivia.
