EHL Forward commits to the Falcons of Concordia University

BURLINGTON, VT – The Vermont Lumberjacks are pleased to announce the commitment of Sawyer Wirsing to the Concordia University Falcons ( NCAA Division III, NCHA) this Fall of 2023. The 6’0 forward from Arundel, Maine is a three year Lumberjacks Veteran with 9 goals and 13 points to date.

“Sawyer has been in our program for several years, and has steadily contributed to our success”, said Head Coach Seth Gustin. “He is always looking to learn and improve his game, his ability to trust the process and triumph through adversity will allow him to adapt not only to the college game but throughout his life as well. Congratulations, Sawyer!”

Coach Jack Lowry also weighed in “I’ve known Sawyer for sometime. It has been a pleasure to watch him grow and develop as a person and a player. I’ve watched him work hard daily and fight through adversity to reach his goal. I know his best days are in front of him.”

Wirsing now reunites with former Lumberjacks Head Coach Jim Mosso who said of his commitment ”we are very excited to have Sawyer join us here at Concordia. Sawyer brings a very high work ethic and a great attitude to the locker room. Having coached Sawyer in my time at Vermont, we look forward to him contributing to the culture we are building in the locker room. As a coach, Sawyer has a ton of tools to work with and he has a potential to develop into a high end player at the college level”.

"I have enjoyed developing on and off the ice the last 3 years with the Lumberjack family”, said Sawyer, “the bonds and memories I've created will stay with me throughout my career and lifetime"
