The Vermont Lumberjacks are proud to announce that defenseman and Lumberjacks' Assistant Captain Zac Turner (Carthage, MO) has committed to University of Central Oklahoma (ACAH Division 1) for the fall of 2015. Central Oklahoma Broncos are consistently ranked in the top ten nationally.  The 6-foot, 185-pound defenseman has given our organization his heart, sweat and determination over the past two years.

“Our organization is extremely proud of Zac Turner and wish him the best in his pursuit of a degree and his hockey career and will be excited to follow his college career beginning in the fall of 2015,” stated Lumberjack Head Coach Doc DelCastillo.

“Zac is such a great young man and the Lumberjacks are proud to be associated with him and his educational/hockey journey.  We are confident that Zac will represent the Lumberjacks well at  University of Central Oklahoma.  Zac has been a consistent warrior this season and has been a leader both on and off the ice,” remarked DelCastillo.

“I am excited to commit to the University of Central Oklahoma for the upcoming fall. I am very happy for the opportunity to continue my education while still being able to play the game I love.  I want to thank my parents and family, Mr. Lary, Coach Hamre, Coach Doc and Coach Gill for all their effort and support. I'm anxious to get started next season and couldn't be more thankful for the opportunity I've been given,” remarked Turner.

Turner’s commitment is the fifth (5th) commitment from the Vermont Lumberjacks 2014-15 team.  The Vermont Lumberjacks are proud members of the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).
