The Vermont Lumberjacks are proud to announce that forward and Assistant Captain Patrick Farnan (Clifton Park, NY) has committed to Suny Canton (NCAA Division D-III) for the fall of 2016.  The 5’10”, 185-pound forward has 6 goals and 3 assists (9 points) through 28 games of the 2015-16 season.  Farnan possesses tremendous speed and tenacity and a “never quit” attitude – all skills that will lead to success playing for the Kangaroos.

“Patrick is a great young adult and our organization is proud to be associated with his development and growth.  Patrick has tremendous character and work ethic.  Since his arrival, Patrick gave our team a leader both on and off the ice. He’s been asked to play in all situations and has not disappointed.  Patrick was a warrior for our team this year and will do anything for our team to win a hockey game”, commented Head Coach Doc DelCastillo.

He presents the academic strengths to be a perfect fit for SUNY-Canton.

Upon making his decision and commitment Patrick Farnan said, “I'm excited to announce my commitment to SUNY Canton for the fall of 2016.  I'm really looking forward to playing in my home state of New York.  I'd like to thank my family, Coach Doc and the entire Lumberjacks organization for supporting me through my last year of juniors and making it the most memorable year of my junior hockey career.  I can't wait to start the next chapter of my life with SUNY Canton and I'm proud to be a Kangaroo”.

“I have met many young men over the years in hockey and I can’t think of anyone more respectful and polite than Patrick Farnan.  He optimizes the culture of the Vermont Lumberjacks and we only wish we had more time with him.  Patrick earned the Assistant Captain role this year and has set a new standard for the responsibility that honor carries with it.  I am very proud of Patrick and wish him nothing but success in both his academic and hockey pursuits, remarked Mr. Lary, owner of the Vermont Lumberjacks.

“Our organization is very proud of Patrick and we wish him the best in his pursuit of a degree, his hockey career and will be excited to follow his college career beginning in the fall of 2016,” stated Head Coach Doc DelCastillo.

Farnan’s commitment is the second (2nd) NCAA commitment from the Vermont Lumberjacks this 2015-16 season.  The Vermont Lumberjacks organization, proud members of the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), congratulates Patrick Farnan on his commitment to SUNY Canton.
