The Vermont Lumberjacks are proud to announce that forward Gary Matyok (Warminster, PA) has committed to Stevenson University (NCAA Division D-III) for the fall of 2016.  Matyok possesses tremendous quickness and great vision on the ice – skills that will lead to success playing for the Mustangs.

“Gary is a tremendous person in our organization and we are proud of his accomplishment in taking the next step in his life.  Gary is your consummate team player and is looked upon with great respect from both coaches and players in our organization,” commented Head Coach Doc DelCastillo.

“Since the first time I met Gary, I knew he possessed the character we look for at the Lumberjacks.  He did not disappoint.  Gary will represent the Lumberjacks for years to come as he enters this new phase of his life.  I am very proud of Gary and wish him nothing but success in both his academic and hockey pursuits”, remarked Mr. Lary, Owner of the Vermont Lumberjacks.

“Gary scored some very big goals for the organization this year.

He presents the academic strengths to be a perfect fit for Stevenson University,” commented Lumberjack Head Coach Doc Delcastillo.

Upon making his decision and commitment Gary Matyok said “I am very blessed and excited to announce my commitment to Stevenson University for the fall of 2016.  I would like to thank my mother and father, my family, Coach Doc, the Lumberjacks organization, my teammates, and everyone else who has supported me along the way.  I have learned a tremendous amount from Coach Doc and the Lumberjacks organization.  I am looking forward to the next journey in my life as a student-athlete.”

“Our organization is very proud of Gary and we wish him the best as he pursues a degree and continues his hockey career. It will be exciting to follow his college career beginning the fall of 2016,” stated Head Coach Doc DelCastillo.

Matyok’s commitment is the 5th NCAA commitment from the Vermont Lumberjacks this 2015-16 season.  The Vermont Lumberjacks organization, proud members of the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), congratulates Gary Matyok on his commitment to Stevenson University.
