This past week a veteran of the Vermont Lumberjacks began his NCAA Hockey career.  The Vermont Lumberjacks organization would like to take this opportunity to announce and congratulate 2-year defenseman Ben Lau (Prospect, KY) on his recruitment and commitment to Trine University.  The 6-3", 205 pound blue-liner has 1 goal and 20 assists (21 points) through 49 games of the 2016-17 season.

We are very proud of Ben. The past two years Ben has excelled in all situations with the Lumberjacks team and it is a pleasure to be associated with such a solid young man.  He has distinguished himself both on and off the ice and was well received by his team.  Serving as a captain the 2016-17 season he produced from the blue line all season long. Ben has exceptional skill and is a complete warrior. Trine University will have a superb model student-athlete in Ben Lau for the next four years.

"Our organization is honored to have been a part of Ben’s journey to play college hockey and wish him the very best. It will be exciting to follow his college career beginning in the fall of 2017” stated Lumberjacks Head Coach Doc DelCastillo.

"I am excited to announce my commitment to Trine University. I would like to thank my family for helping me and supporting me throughout my junior career. I would also like to thank Coach Doc and the Vermont Lumberjacks organization for helping me develop as a player and a person", commented Lau.

The Vermont Lumberjacks organization, proud members of the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), congratulates Ben Lau on his commitment to the Trine University.
