EHL Defenseman Set to Join New Program this Fall

BURLINGTON, VT -- The Vermont Lumberjacks are pleased to announce that Patrick Manning has committed to Anna Maria College for the Fall of 2018. Manning is in his first season with the Lumberjacks, and has tallied 32 points in 40 games to date. The Amcats will be kicking off their inaugural season at the Division III level as an independent program this Fall.

"I am very proud of Patrick," said EHL head coach and general manager Jim Mosso. "He is exactly what we want our boys to be when they leave the program. Not only has he improved as a hockey player, but he is an exceptional young man as well. I have no doubt that he will have success in college and make a great impact on people throughout his life."

The Lumberjacks have won five of their last eight games, and Manning has been a big reason why. The talented defenseman has tallied six points to his name in that span. The '97 from Massena, New York has been rock solid on the blue line all season long, and Manning took some time to reflect on his decision and thank those who helped him along the way.

"Coming to Vermont and being a Lumberjack has not only made me a better hockey player, but it has also made me a better person outside the rink," said Manning. "I’d like to thank Mr. Lary, Coach Mosso, and Coach Doc. I’d also like to thank my parents, I wouldn’t be here or have the opportunity if it wasn’t for them, so I thank them for giving me the chance to pursue my college hockey career."

Manning and the Lumberjacks take to the ice next this weekend, when they hit the road to Haverhill, MA for a pair of games against the Valley Jr. Warriors.
