EHL Defenseman Set to Join Lancers this Fall

BURLINGTON, VT -- The Vermont Lumberjacks are pleased to announce that Max Roth has committed to Worcester State University for the Fall of 2018. Roth is in his second season with the Lumberjacks, and has tallied 29 points in 78 career games in the EHL.

"It has been a great pleasure coaching Max Roth the past two seasons," said EHL head coach and general manager Jim Mosso. "He is a perfect example of what hard work and dedication can do for a player's hockey career. He is the most improved returner we have had in our organization, and has earned his spot in a top college program. I have no doubt that Max will be successful at the next level."

Roth has been a true leader for the Lumberjacks both on and off the ice. The veteran defenseman has progressed so far in two years, and he took some time to thank everyone that helped him along the way.

"I’m very grateful for the opportunity to continue my athletic and academic career at Worcester State University," said Roth. "I would like to thank Coach Mosso and Coach Delcastillo and the rest of the Lumberjacks organization for a great two years, and helping me develop to be the player and person that I am today. I would especially like to thank my family, friends, and teammates for supporting me every step of the way. I’m very excited to become a Lancer and look forward to the next chapter of my life."

Roth and the Lumberjacks are on the road this weekend, as they get set for a big two-game series against the Valley Jr. Warriors.
