EHL All-Star Defenseman Set to Join Spartans this Fall

BURLINGTON, VT -- The Vermont Lumberjacks are pleased to announce that Andrew Barber has committed to Castleton University for the Fall of 2018. Barber is in his second season with the Lumberjacks' top team, and to date, he's tallied 64 total points in 91 career games in the EHL.

"Andrew has been an incredible leader within our organization," said EHL head coach and general manager Jim Mosso. "He works the hardest both on and off the ice. He has helped the Lumberjacks establish our culture as a great role model for our younger players to follow. He will be a huge asset to Castleton's hockey program."

Barber is one of the top scoring defensemen in the EHL, and this season he was selected as the Lumberjacks' representative for the All-Star Team that took the Umass Boston Beacons back in October. The native of Lake George, NY took stop time to reflect on his time in the EHL, and thank all of those who helped him along the way.

"Playing for the Lumberjacks helped me become a better player and grow as a person," said Barber. "Playing for this organization has given me the opportunity to become a leader on and off the ice. Lumberjack hockey has prepared me for college and helped me fulfill my dreams of playing college hockey."

Barber and the Lumberjacks are locked in to the #5 seed in the North Conference, and that earns them a first round matchup with the East Coast Wizards. With four games left in the regular season, the Lumberjacks will lean on Barber to help lead the team into the postseason with some momentum.
