EHL Defenseman Set to Join Rams this Fall

BURLINGTON, VT -- The Vermont Lumberjacks are pleased to announce that Alex Groner has committed to Framingham State University for the Fall of 2018. Groner just finished his second season with the Lumberjacks, and the '97 racked up 19 points in 82 career games in the EHL.

"Coaching Alex Groner has been very rewarding," said EHL head coach and general manager Jim Mosso. "It is nice to see how much a kid can develop when he buys into the program for a couple years. Alex is a great locker room guy as well and that will certainly be missed. Good luck to him in his college endeavors."

Groner is joining what will be a very strong freshmen class at Framingham State. To date, the Rams are set to welcome seven players from five different EHL teams this Fall, all with hopes of helping the team make a deeper run in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) next season. Groner took some time to reflect on his two years in Vermont, and thank all of those who helped him reach this point.

"Playing for the Lumberjacks has been an incredible experience," said Groner. "The coaches have taught me so much and I am very thankful. I can’t wait to play college hockey at Framingham."
