Daigneault Commits to Curry College

EHL Forward commits to the Colonels of Curry College

BURLINGTON, VT – The Vermont Lumberjacks are pleased to announce the commitment of Victor Daigneault to Curry College this Fall of ‘23. The third year EHL forward for the Lumberjacks posted an impressive 55 points and 22 goals this season.

“Over the past 3 seasons Victor has displayed his elite skill, passion, and leadership on and off the ice” said Head Coach Seth Gustin. “Watching him grow and develop this season as a Captain ensures me he will exceed any obstacle in life” Coach Gustin went on to say. ”He is a winner, and ultimate competitor - I’m looking forward to his future at Curry College.”

“Being able to be part of Victor's growth and development over these past 3 years as both player, and young man has been a joy to watch” added Coach Lowry. “His hard work, attention to detail, and leadership had all come together for him going to his dream school Curry College. Curry is getting a dynamic player with speed, skill, and determination.”

“I’d like to thank the Lumberjacks organization for helping progress the last three years and bring my game to the next level, and most particularly Coaches Mosso, Gill and Gustin” said Daigneault the Rosemère, QC native.  “They gave me increasing roles every year to help me improve my game. I would also like to thank my teammates that have challenged me every day and gave me no other choice but to step up my game.”

Victor said further “I’m also honored to join the great Curry College organization and look forward to helping the team maintain the high standards they’ve built over the years.”

Victor is the first Lumberjack player to commit to Curry but will join several EHL alumni on the team.

 

Guernon Commits to Manhattanville

EHL Forward commits to the Valiants of Manhattanville College

BURLINGTON, VT – The Vermont Lumberjacks are excited to announce the commitment of Louis-Joseph Guernon to Manhattanville College this Fall of ‘23. The three year EHL forward for the Lumberjacks racked up 52 points and 23 goals this season.

 

“Louis will definitely be missed. His on-ice skills are dynamic, but he also has a great personality which allows him to become bonded with his teammates.” Said Head Coach Seth Gustin “I’m sure he will continue to bring those attributes into the Manhattanville program and community. I’m so happy Louis trusted our program and league to help him achieve the commitment he wanted. I look forward to watching him play again.”

 

"Going to the NCAA level for a hockey player is a big step” said the Boisbriad, QC native “I can’t thank enough my parents and friends that helped me through the whole process. I also wanted to thank the Vermont Lumberjacks program that gave me the chance to wear that jersey for the last 3 years. I grew as both an individual while learning to become a better hockey player on both sides of the ice. Can’t wait to start !#govaliants "

 

Louis becomes the 5th Lumberjack player to commit to the Valiants since 2019 and the second this year.

Billequey Commits to Manhattanville

EHL Goalie commits to the Valiants of Manhattanville College

BURLINGTON, VT – The Vermont Lumberjacks are pleased to announce the commitment of William Billequey to Manhattanville College this Fall of ‘23. The 6’0" Lumberjacks starting goalie posted an impressive save percentage of 0.935 this season. The Laval, QC native played two seasons with the Lumberjacks EHL team.

 

“Will was the backbone of our team this year” said Head Coach Seth Gustin, “ and was a huge part of our success. He was steady, reliable, and someone we could count onto manage the game. It’s been a pleasure coaching Will the last two seasons and watching him develop into the goaltender and person he is today. Being extremely driven, he had goals that he put the work in to set himself up for the success he has received.”

 

“Thanks to my family and friends for supporting me and helping me reach my goal of playing NCAA hockey” said Billequey. “I am also extremely grateful for the opportunity coach Gustin and the Lumberjacks gave me this year. I’ve really enjoyed my time in Vermont and I am excited to pursue my career at Manhattanville College.”

 

Will becomes the 4th Lumberjack player to commit to the Valiants since 2019. Coach Gustin also went on to say “Manhattanville is getting both a great goaltender and awesome person. Best of Luck, Billy!”
